Here's a review of Session 3: Deepening Our Relationships and Conversations
Building Relationships- These are places you can look to deepen your relationships:
- People we already know: include them in your activities, take an interest in what they are doing, or throw a Matthew Party!
- People we used to know: Reconnect with friends you've lost touch with. As they share with you about what's been happening in their life, share with them about what God has been doing in your life!
- People we'd like to know: become a contagious consumer!
Key Points to Remember:
- Let the Holy Spirit be the guide!
- Barbecue first!
- Mention spiritual matters early.
Starting Spiritual Conversations:
- Bridging
- Questioning
- Inviting
Key Points on Spiritual Conversation:
- Take initiative
- Talk to people one-on-one
- Engage in dialogue, not monologue
- Present truth in doses
- Make the most of split-second opportunities
Homework assignment:
- Using any of the techniques you've learned, try to deepen a conversation towards spiritual matters.
- Strike up a conversation with someone you'd like to know.
