However, prior to the creating our own delicious treat, we'll be participating in our annual church-wide service project: Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child aims to send Christmas gifts packed in shoe boxes to children all around the world who otherwise may not receive any other gifts. The gifts are intended to bring joy in providing much needed items as well as showing each child the love of God in our act of service for each child.
We'll be gathering together to pack each gift but are asking each of you to provide standard-sized shoe boxes and any of the following new/unused items:
- school supplies
- toys
- hygiene items (toothbrush/paste, bar soap, combs, washcloth, etc.)
- other (hard candy/lollipops, mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, caps, etc.)
- a personal note/photo. It is a great blessing for the child to know exact who sent the shoebox to him/her!
- gift wrap to wrap the shoe boxes
Since these boxes are traveling all around the world (some even on camels!), there are specific restrictions. Please DO NOT pack the following:
- used/damaged items
- war-related items (toy guns/knives/military figures/etc.)
- chocolate or food
- liquids/lotions
- medications/vitamins
- any breakable/glass items
- aerosol cans
It would be meaningful for each of you to go and purchase these items and bring them to the party to pack them with us. However, if you are unable to attend the party, you may consider sponsoring a shoe box by contributing money for items or the $7 shipping cost incurred for each shoe box. We hope that you will be able to participate with us in this project.
We must collect all shoe boxes by November 15th.
