Let's get crackin' on Hebrews!

Charis will be studying the book of Hebrews during the Fall quarter. We encourage you to get ready for the study by first reading it yourself! In a brief 13 chapters, the author manages to exhort and challenge the reader to re-evaluate their faith.

Here's some basic information about the book that may help you to get started:

Author: Unknown

Recipients: Jewish Christians

Date: Written before 70 A.D.

Purpose: The author is directing his encouragement and warnings to Jewish Christians, pointing them to Christ as better than establish Old Testament rites and covenants.

Key Themes:
- Jesus is superior to angels, to Moses, the Mosaic covenant, the earthly tabernacle (temple), and its priests.
- Believers are to hold on to salvation by faith in Christ.
- Believers are to encourage others in the church to persevere.

We'll get deeper into the background and chapters 1 and 2 on October 2nd. Reading just a few verses a day will get you ready to study with us! Come with your questions and we'll research them together.

Even if you can't join us physically, feel free to study with us virtually! Leave a comment and let us know if you'll be joining!
